Your data, your control

Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who can see it and the rights you have under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

01Who we are and what this policy covers

Job Samadhan ("Job Samadhan", "we", "us") runs the job portal at jobsamadhan.com and the Job Samadhan mobile app, where job seekers search and apply for jobs and employers post jobs and hire. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.

For the purposes of the DPDP Act, Job Samadhan is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data you give us. When you create an account you tick a box (it is never pre-ticked) to agree to this policy and our Terms; we record the date and time of that consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (see "Your rights").

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

02What we collect

  • Account details (everyone): your mobile number (used to sign in with a one-time code sent on WhatsApp), your name, the role you chose at sign-up (job seeker or employer) and, if you add one, an e-mail address verified with a one-time code.
  • Job seeker profile — only what you choose to add: photo, job title / headline, a short summary, city and state, gender and date of birth, fresher or experienced and years of experience, current and expected salary, notice period, skills, work experience, education, projects, certifications, languages, links (LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio), job preferences (job types, work modes, cities, categories, minimum salary) and privacy choices.
  • Resume: the resume we build from your profile (we generate it when you ask for it), your chosen design, and any resume file (PDF or Word) you upload.
  • Employer and company details: your designation, the company's name, industry, size, city, address, website, about text, logo, contact e-mail / phone, GSTIN if you give it, and documents you upload to verify the company (for example a GST certificate or a registration certificate).
  • Jobs and applications: the jobs an employer posts; the applications you send (with a copy of your profile at that moment, your cover note and answers to the employer's questions); status changes, interview details, invitations, shortlists, ratings and notes an employer keeps about applicants.
  • Messages, images and voice notes sent in chats between an employer and a candidate, and the time, length and status of voice / video interview calls (call audio and video are not recorded).
  • Activity: jobs you save, job alerts you create, profiles an employer views, accounts you block, reports you make, and the questions you ask the AI assistant with its replies.
  • Device and technical data: device type, app version, push-notification token, IP address and logs needed to keep the service secure and working.
  • Plan requests from employers (the plan, amount and status) and anything you write to us through the contact form or e-mail.

03Why we use it

  • To create your account, sign you in securely and keep you signed in.
  • For job seekers: to show you jobs, rank them by how well they match your profile, send the applications you choose to send, build your resume and send job alerts.
  • For employers: to publish your jobs, show you the people who applied, help you manage the hiring steps and, on plans that include it, let you search candidates who chose to be visible to employers.
  • To deliver messages, calls and notifications — including e-mails about your applications or applicants if you verified an e-mail address. You can switch e-mails off in Settings or with the unsubscribe link in every e-mail.
  • To review company verification documents and job posts, and to keep the service safe: detecting fake jobs, fee-asking posts, fraud, spam and abuse, and acting on reports.
  • To answer your questions and complaints, and to keep the records the law requires.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

04Who can see your information

  • Your mobile number is never shown on a public page.
  • When you apply to a job, the employer who posted it receives your application: your profile details at that moment, your photo, your cover note and answers, and your resume. Your phone number is shared with that employer only if your privacy setting allows it ("show my number to employers I apply to") — otherwise they message you in Job Samadhan.
  • Talent search: employers on a plan that includes it can find job seekers whose profile is set to "visible to employers". They see your profile without your phone number or e-mail. You can hide your profile from search at any time in Settings; employers you already applied to still see your application.
  • Your uploaded resume file is private. It is never at a public address: an employer you applied to gets a link that works for 15 minutes only.
  • Company verification documents are seen only by the Job Samadhan team that reviews them — never by job seekers or other employers.
  • Chats: our team does not read your conversations. If you report a message or an account, we may review the messages relevant to that report in order to act on it.
  • Service providers who help us run Job Samadhan and process data only on our instructions: our technology partner that hosts the service; Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, which delivers sign-in codes; Google Firebase for push notifications; e-mail delivery for alerts; and AI model providers that generate the assistant's replies (we send only what is needed to answer).
  • Authorities, when the law, a court order or a lawful request from a government agency requires it, or when it is necessary to protect someone's safety.

05How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, photo, resume file, job preferences, alerts, saved jobs, verification documents and device tokens are deleted, your profile disappears from search, and applications you sent are marked withdrawn with their profile copy removed. An employer's live jobs are closed when the employer deletes the account.

We keep a limited set of records longer only where the law requires it or where it is needed for safety or legal claims — for example the record of your consent, records of reports and enforcement action against abusive accounts, and plan / invoice records under tax law. Copies in routine backups are removed as those backups expire.

06How we protect it

Sign-in codes are stored only as one-way hashes and expire in 10 minutes; sign-in attempts are rate-limited. Pages and the app talk to our servers over encrypted HTTPS. Resume files and verification documents are stored outside the public web folder and are served only through short-lived signed links or to authorised staff. Access by our team is limited to what their work needs.

No system is perfectly secure. If a personal-data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.

07Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:

  • get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct, complete or update it — most of it you can edit yourself in your profile and settings;
  • have it erased — you can delete your account yourself (Settings ▸ Delete account) or ask us to;
  • withdraw your consent — by deleting your account; this does not affect processing already done;
  • nominate a person who can exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity;
  • have your grievance addressed by us and, if you are not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these rights, write to jobsamadhanofficial@gmail.com from the e-mail address on your account or call +91 72680 76933, and give us your registered mobile number so we can confirm the request is yours.

08Cookies

The website uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and stores small preferences in your browser. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

09Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or on the website before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
